Variables that are given values in Global.asax sometimes return wrong values

In my pages I use:

bool ismobile = ASP.global_asax.IsMobile;

If I refresh the page many times, about 20% of the time ismobile has the wrong value. Same system, same code. What can possibly be wrong?

You should never use static in ASP.NET applications, since static variables are shared across ALL sessions. Most likely the value is overwritten by another session opened.

Change it to become a Session variable, which as it's name says, is only available for the current session:

public bool? IsMobile
{
    get
    {
        return HttpContext.Current.Session["ismobile"] as bool?;
    }
    set
    {
        HttpContext.Current.Session["ismobile"] = value;
    }
}
